The Tigers will be boosted by the return of all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who has been out of action for months due to injury. He will only be available to bat, but his on-field experience will also be of vital importance to his team. The Tiger will be the more confident side of the two, after a very successful tour to Sri Lanka, in which their batsman stepped up to the plate, putting on a few brilliant performances. A flat track is expected, which might take the Bangladesh spinners out the equation.

Zimbabwe on the other hand, will not be as confident, with numerous off-field situation dampening their sides chances. Captain Brendon Taylor, will have to lead from the front, something he is capable of and has shown against huge test playing nations. Kyle Jarvis will be the key bowler for them, he has the ability to swing the ball, and will be looking to tack the attack to the Tigers.

Bangladesh have lost all three test matches they’ve played against Zimbabwe in Harare, 2001, 2004, and the last time out in 2011. The overall record between the two sides also favor Zimbabwe, winning 5 out of the 9 matches played.

If the Tigers can replicate their batting performance they put on in Sri Lanka, they will at least be assured of a draw, if not a win. Zimbabwe will be looking at home town advantage to pull them through, a great contest in the making, with the winner, holding the title of, champion of the minnows!
