At the crease for England will be Joe Root on 178*, the whole of Lord’s will be cheering on the 22 year old playing in just his 8th test match, and with a chance of scoring a double century  at the home of cricket. A rear feat likes this will be a tremendous confidence boost the youngsters test career. With him at the crease will be Jonny Bairstow on 11*, who most likely would’ve been playing for his place in the side, had it not been for his 67 in the first innings, which he made with a stroke of luck when he was bowled early in his innings off a no-ball. He’s current test average stand at 30.23, with various flaws in his technique already picked up by Australia.

England will most likely wait for Root to each his magical double century, before Cool will declare, and attempt to bowl Australia out, which at this stage seems like quite an easy job. Swann extracted some good from the Lord’s wicket, and with the pitch being deteriorated even more, he will be the danger man for Australia. It will be up to Shane Watson and Rogers to set the foundation, and it has to be a huge one of they are to have any chance of saving the test.

If Australia go down 2-0, chances of coming back into the series will be virtually zero, and the 5-0 series score many predicted will move a step closer to reality.
