India vs Australia 4th Test- Full Highlights

Delhi will play host the fourth and final test match between India and Australia. India currently lead the series 3-0, and will no doubt be looking for the killer blow, in order in inflict a series white wash. Will the Ausies have the fighting spirit to avoid this? With all the off field events, I doubt it. Although they looked a better team in the third test, India were still able to put them away with relative ease.

Australia will be without Mitchell Starc, who returns home for ankle surgery. With captain Michael Clarke still doubtful, Australia look like a depleted and run down team. Speculation is that Watson will return for the final test, and may well have to take over the role of captain of Clarke does not recover in time. How would Australia have loved to still have the likes of Hussey around. They are bitter short on experience, and youth alone, won’t win you test matches.

Indian debutant, and century scorer Dhawan will also not be available to fourth test due to injury. A cruel blow for the youngster after a brilliant debut.  His place will be taken by Suresh Raina, who will be looking for a big performance, to try and reclaim his test spot. Other than the one forced change, I can’t see India changing the winning combination.

The two teams have played each other in six previous matches at this venue, with India winning two, and three ending in a draw. India lost the last test they played in Delhi to the West Indies in 2011. Ravi Ashwin took nine wickets in the fixture, he will have good memories of the ground.

Let’s hope Australia manage to field at least eleven players in the test! All things considered, I can’t see Australia pulling off a win, let alone a draw. Look out for a ruthless performance from India, which will make them a dangerous team in the ICC trophy, as they will enter the tournament on a huge high.
