West Indies will perhaps be more adapt to the conditions, having played their first match at the same venue. It was a low scoring affair against Pakistan, with the bowling from both sides having been first-class on the day. Chris Gayle showed that patience is key on the track, being able to accelerate once he got use to the pace of the pitch. He will be facing an inexperienced Indian pace attack, which will be more to his liking. Kemar Roach who showed blistering pace against Pakistan, will look to repeat his performance against a strong Indian batting line up. If he can make early inroads, particularly getting rid of the in-form opening pair, they will have a splendid chance of pulling off an upset win.

India will be lifted by their performance over the last 5 years against the West Indies, winning 75% of the matches played. Rohit Sharma has an amazing average of 64 from 14 matches, and Kohli 58 from 12 matches against the men from the Caribbean. This will be worrying statistics for the Windies going into this match. Dhawan and Sharma look in smashing form at the top of the order, although he middle order of Raina, Kohli, Karthik, and Dhoni disappointing somewhat after receiving  a great platform from which to launch from. The contest between Narine and the Indian top order will be immense, will they look to play him out, or will they look to attack?

On paper India have to be fancied to take the win, but as we’ve seen  in the past during big tournaments, the West Indies side can never be written off.
