The West Indies won both their warm-up fixtures, and more important for them is that both openers look to be in exceptional form, with Smith and Gayle timing and stroking the ball well. They have plenty of match winner in the top order, which includes the big hitting Sammy and Russel down the order, both have the ability to finish off an innings well, and will be a huge danger to the Indian death bowlers. If they have any form of weakness, it will be in the middle order, where Charles, and Simmons can be hot or cold on the day. The spin trio of Badree, Narine and Samuels will play a huge role for them in the tournament, and it will be interesting to see if India opt to attack them.

India showed that they are a class outfit, and more importantly showed good form with the ball, a discipline that they’ve been struggling with of late. The spin trio of Ashwin, Jadeja and Mishra were incredibly accurate, and will hope for a repeat performance in Sunday. Yuvraj Singh will be desperate to get a good score under his belt, and the West Indies will be well-aware that he does tend to strike form in big tournaments, which will be a huge boost for his side.
