Both sides will go into the fixture with a change of leadership. Mohammad Hafeez will take over the captaincy of the Pakistan side in the absence of Misbah-ul-Haq, while Faf du Plessis will give AB de Villiers a break from being skipper.

Two old faces will make their return to the Pakistan side in the form of the experienced Abdul Razzaq and Shoaid Malik. Both players bring huge experience to the side, an ingredient which one feels was lacking on the ODI format. On paper once again the side does look incredibly dangerous, as one performance can easily swing a game. It will be interesting to see if Nasir Jamshed gets given another chance, as another failure will surely mean he will be dropped from all three forms of the game for Pakistan.

South Africa will keep the bulk of their ODI squad, going into the series with loads of momentum. AB de Villiers will be the key man for them, relieved of the captaincy duties, he will have a lot more freedom, and as shown in the last ODI, he can be hugely inventive with the bat in hand. Other newcomers to the squad will include Aaron Pahngiso, Hendry Davids and the hard hitting David Wiese, who has yet to show his full array of skills with the bat. Dale Steyn has made is clear that he wants to be part of the South African T20 side, and with his current form, he will be devastating in the shortest format of the game.

Can Pakistan bounce back and put on a decent show?
