The Mumbai Indian will be captained by Rohit Sharma, who did an excellent job of leading the side during the IPL. The major attraction as always will be Sachin Tendulkar, who will most likely open the batting with either Dwayne Smith or Rohit Sharma. The side will boast three Australian imports in Nathan Couter-Nile, Mitchell Johnson and Glenn Maxwell. All three are game changers, and are expected to have a huge impact on the Mumbai Indian chances of winning the tournament. Kieron Pollard will also be relied on heavily to perform with the bat, and with not much cricket behind him of late, it might be a tough ask for the hard hitting West Indian.

40 year old Rahul Dravid will captain the Rajasthan Royals, who have four Australian players in the squad. Shane Watson will be the most important of the four, and will be expected to lead from the front with the bat, and has been in good form if late. James Faulkner has come on in leaps and bounds, and has of late been trying to focus on his batting, in order to have the tag of all-rounder to his name. Brad Hodge will be the experience in the team, and together with Rahul Dravid will be responsible for all the major decision making.

The sides have faced each other on 12 previous occasions, with the Mumbai Indian leading the head to head by 7 to 5. Beating the Rajasthan Royals at home will be a factor, as they have won 24 of their last 33 fixtures at the venue.
